Misleading advertising should not be the norm. It is not okay for companies and advertisers to lie, withhold information or employ trickery to hoodwink consumers into buying their products and services.
We may have been guilty of it in the past, but no more. It’s time someone stood up to say, enough is enough.
That’s why we started the Stay True Index, a national platform that sheds light on honesty in advertising and encourages Singaporeans to talk about the issue. Because we believe if everyone can stay true in their advertising, there’s only one winner: you.

WHAT MAKES AN HONEST AD, HONEST?
Let’s face it, it’s easy to call something out for being misleading. But there are honest ads out there as well. Here’s how to identify them.
Clauses relating to specific offers are always stated upfront, and disclaimers are limited or minimised.
Clear Terms &
Fine print is kept to a minimum. Even when fine print is included, it only covers usage legalities and not crucial terms of the product or offer.
Important restrictions are communicated clearly within the main body of the ad, and not kept hidden within the terms & conditions.
Most importantly, the ad should be simple and easy to understand. It should not contain any complicated mechanics or leave you feeling confused or unclear.
